It’s important to set strong foundations for the future
To ensure a sustainable future, we need to look towards our long-term goals and outline how each decision we make can help us achieve them. As such, our approach to sustainability has matured in 2025, from focusing on incremental actions, to prioritising more longer-term progress.
In 2025, we’ve been investing in making real and meaningful change. We’ve set the foundations for the future of our business through the move to our new office, which will help us achieve our sustainability targets in the coming years. We’ve also undertaken significant upgrades to our systems, which will help improve our customer experience in the long term and create a platform ready to support the energy transition. We know that each of our actions have an impact, and that trade-offs are sometimes necessary for long-term progress. However, by remaining focused on the end goal, we can ensure that all our actions and decisions are carefully considered steps towards delivering our vision for our business and our industry.
Change is essential for future growth
The energy industry is evolving rapidly, and those of us working within it must be able to anticipate and respond at pace. Whilst 2025 has been about laying the groundwork for the future, it’s also highlighted to us the necessity of evolution and change.
From moving to a new office to widening our capabilities, we’ve needed to make changes for the development of our business and the benefit of our customers. However, whilst change is essential for the growth of any business, it can also be challenging for processes and teams. Throughout such significant change in our business last year, we’ve learned how essential it is to align our operations, communicating across the business in order to make the process as seamless as possible. We need to become more comfortable with the uncomfortable, taking risks to implement the change we need to further deliver our purpose.
Collaboration is crucial in order to make real progress
We know that we can’t reach a sustainable energy future alone. In a world that is increasingly interconnected on a global scale, our actions as businesses have far-reaching implications. That’s why it’s so important to communicate: communicate our sustainability progress and our carbon footprint data, which we know impacts our supply chain; communicate our learnings to help others have a smoother path; and communicate what’s changing in the industry, to help businesses to navigate the energy landscape.
We need to leverage the connections and relationships we have to seize opportunities to collaborate, whether this be through industry events or working with our supply chains and suppliers to improve operations. It’s also important that electricity suppliers and others in the energy industry constantly pay attention to key developments and trends, so that we can use these discussions to drive forwards change in our sector.

We’re proud of all the progress we made in 2025 – from receiving a SKA Silver rating for the sustainable design and fit-out of our new office, to expanding our products and services to better support our customers in engaging with the grid and being rewarded for their efforts.
We’re excited to find more ways in the future to bring us closer towards our vision for the future – a sustainable energy future in which consumers are empowered to actively engage with, support and benefit from a sustainable energy system. We’re working to lead this change and hope that, by sharing our journey, we are helping others to have a smoother path in their own.
