What is a cookie?
Cookies are small text files, created by the website visited which contain data. They are stored on the visitor's computer for different aims. For example, giving the visitor access to various functions and gathering usage statistics.
There are three types of cookies:
1. Persistent cookies. This cookie type is saved on the user’s computer for a given amount of time, after which it will be erased.
2. Session cookies. A session cookie is temporarily stored in the computer's memory while the visitor is browsing the website. The session cookie is erased when the web browser is closed.
3. Third party cookies are cookies that can be persistent, or session based and are served from domains (or subdomains) that are different from the one shown in your address bar. These are used to store surfing, personalisation preferences and tracking information.
