THE ROLE:
The Senior Optimisation Analyst is an exciting new role for Bryt Energy, as we develop our Optimisation Desk capabilities.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:
The role of Senior Optimisation Analyst be responsible for assisting in the daily and monthly operation of the optimisation desk, working alongside a small team of analysts, as well as working more broadly with cross-team members to help drive profitability for our customer base.
Your role will help ensure that we maximise market revenues for our customers by staying abreast of new and emerging markets as well as regulatory changes to help shape market strategy for our portfolio. You will also take a key role in developing tooling to help ensure we are generating the maximum reporting for customers with assets within our flexible portfolio.
This position will also provide industry wide exposure, enabling you to act as a conduit between Bryt Energy and industry bodies, our partners and our customers, enabling you to become a figure head within the energy transition sector.
The Senior Optimisation analyst role sits within the Strategy & Innovation team and will report into the Optimisation Desk Manager.
YOU’LL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:
- Providing detailed insight to aid in the operation of Bryt Energy’s Optimisation Desk, including strategic & operational daily and monthly optimisation processes across a range of technologies, asset types and markets.
- Design and maintain internal processes and controls that dictate Optimisation Desk operations and ensure they are fit for purpose.
- Aid in the entry process to new ancillary market services.
- Create and maintain end of month customer reports to document financial and operational performance of customer assets.
- Design and maintain market databases to provide weekly market insight notes and a monthly strategy briefing to the Optimisation Desk Manager.
- Curate industry datasets (e.g. ECR, DNO/ESO publications) and present actionable insights to sales and commercial teams to support tender responses and product positioning.
- Providing excellent customer service for customers under contract; respond to queries, run performance reviews, and escalate commercial queries.
- Coordinate with partners and asset optimisers to ensure contractual availability and successful dispatch; manage partner SLAs and run monthly performance reconciliations.
- Attend meetings with customers and partners to discuss performance of their asset and any adjustments to their strategy.
- Keep abreast of new services and regulatory changes that will affect our optimisation portfolio, help respond to consultations on these changes and keep stakeholders updated of those changes
- Provide market updates for clients, both prospective and under contract, covering ancillary service, non-commodity
- Work with Bryt Energy’s marketing team to create insightful content to be published via Social Media channels.
- Represent Bryt Energy as a key contact point with industry bodies.

Education and training:
- Qualified to degree level or have experience in an energy/trading environment.
- Highly numerate with commercial acumen.
- Excellent statistical, modelling and analysis skills to support robust modelling and strategy building; able to apply sound theoretical knowledge to practical problems.
- A knowledge of the current UK ancillary service market and its regulations is highly desirable.
- Over two years’ experience within the UK’s Energy sector.
