Birmingham, we operate a Hybrid working policy and employees are required to be in the Birmingham office a minimum of 2 days per week
Hours:
Full time Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours a week.

The role is an instrumental part of the Portfolio & Pricing management layer, supporting significant sales growth through timely and accurate pricing and displaying a flexible and collaborative approach with other departments across the Quoting Workstream and beyond.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Reporting to the Head of Portfolio & Pricing, the Pricing Team Manager is responsible for a team of pricing analysts whose main role is production of fixed and flex electricity supply offers. In addition, this role will oversee wider pricing operations activity relating to non-commodity cost refixing, volume booking, flexibility trades, as well as supporting wider commercial activity where appropriate. The role requires excellent management skills to ensure quality control and risk governance, as well as delivering exceptional customer service.

You will identify opportunities for continuous improvements, and be able to identify, justify and support implementation of more substantial process and system change projects as required. At Bryt Energy, we are hands on in our management approach and you will be required to be actively involved in the detailed tasks, whilst managing and coaching your team.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing the pricing operations and being responsible for the production of tenders, with accountability for price accuracy and timeliness, and ensuring adherence to approved pricing strategies and regulatory obligations.
  • Ownership of pricing decisions within the overarching DoA framework
  • Ensuring tenders are priced in line with all applicable policies, including for Credit and Commercial delegation of authority limits and wider group trading arrangements.
  • Responsible for work allocation across the team and managing stakeholder expectations, especially during busy Sales round periods.
  • Process owner for within contract price fixings, relating to non-commodity costs across the flex portfolio, ensuring complete and timely conclusion of the end-to-end processes. The processes require handling of complex datasets and assurance work to ensure data is complete.
  • Ensuring a strong understanding of our products and commercial risks is embedded across the team, covering all relatable processes both within the team and downstream in other key business areas.
  • Continuous improvement mentality relating to the development and improving of existing processes.
  • Responsible for Pricing Team KPIs, providing regular reporting and presenting updates up to Director level.
  • Managing a team of analysts, with a coaching style and performance management to support their development and ensure achievement of objectives.
  • Managing stakeholder relationships, internal and external, ensuring good communication and managing expectations.
  • Key stakeholders will be: Sales & Marketing, Finance, IT & Projects, Statkraft, third party system providers.

Education and training:

  • Thorough knowledge of the UK B2B electricity supply industry and regulatory regime.
  • Experience of pricing B2B electricity contracts.
  • Prior experience of people management will be an advantage.
  • Qualified to degree level.
  • Highly numerate with demonstrable commercial acumen.

 

Abilities and skills:

  • A good understanding of power trading arrangements, industry settlements, complex customer contract pricing and structures for the I&C electricity supply sector.
  • Advanced Excel and MS Office skills; knowledge of VBA and further applications will be an advantage.
  • Highly effective organisation and prioritisation skills.
  • Ability to delegate effectively and to manage performance.
  • Proactive and energetic approach, with a positive attitude and an ability to work well under pressure.
  • Flexible and adaptable to respond to changing priorities.
