Our Fuel Mix Disclosure 2018/2019

We’re proud to announce that our 2018/2019 Fuel Mix is reported as zero carbon and 100% renewable, compared to the UK average of only 32.8% renewable.

Our Fuel Mix explained

Our fuel mix is the ratio of different energy sources used to generate the electricity supplied to our customers. All UK electricity suppliers must detail their fuel mix on an annual basis to their customers. This should also include the associated carbon content so that customers can accurately measure their associated carbon emissions.

The table below shows our fuel mix alongside the UK average, from April 2018 to March 2019.

Bryt Energy Fuel Mix

How it works

We ensure that all the electricity we supply to customers each year is matched with zero carbon, 100% renewable electricity. Sourced solely from our Wind, Hydro and Solar supplies, there’s no Coal, Gas, Nuclear or Biomass in our mix.

 Renewable Sources

Why only Wind, Hydro and Solar?

As shown on the diagram below, some zero carbon-emitting energy sources have issues. Most Bioenergy requires combustion to generate electricity and is linked to an increased carbon production. Also, whilst Nuclear is zero carbon, the radioactive fuel source Uranium is finite, making this non-renewable. That's why our portfolio only includes wind, hydro and solar sources, as they are natural, renewable and zero carbon
